Power City had a difficult time finding their game early ultimately digging a whole too deep to climb out of, dropping a 4-1 decision in the semi-finals of the Thanksgiving Tournament at Hyde Park Ice Pavillion Sunday morning.
Carter Winiarski scored the Bruins lone goal on a set-up from AJ McCune on a good forecheck to force a turnover. McCune then hit a streaking Winiarski down the slot for the Bruins goal. McCune also led the Bruins with six shots on goal.
RJ Turner stopped 22 of 26 shots for the Bruins, and Cody Schoen stopped all three Blythe attempts he faced while Turner was on the bench for an equipment issue.
Brody Hockaday once again led the physical effort for the Bruins with five hits. Hayden Hockaday, Benny Lazzaro, and Derrek Wolski each chipped in three. Dario Savard added three blocks to the defensive effort.
The Bruins are now off for over a week with their next contest against the Cheektowaga Warriors on Wednesday, December 11th at Buffalo River works at 6pm.
