The 2011 Power City Bruins Gold squad found a late power play goal during a scramble in front with under four minutes to play to push the 2011  Bruins Gold team past the 2010 Bruins, 4-3.

Newcomer Carter Winiarski scored two first period goals to give the 2010's a 2-1 advantage after one.  The long change proved to be a challenge, however, as the elder Bruins trailed 3-2 heading into the final frame.

Half way through the third, defenseman Dario Savard snapped home the equalizer from the high slot for his first of the year and second point of the game.  The younger Bruins responded with a few strong shifts leading to the power play game winner just beyond the reach of a sprawling Cody Schoen in the crease.

RJ Turner started the game in the crease for the Bruins and stopped 16 of 19 shots.  Schoen was also strong in relief, yielding only one on 17 shots.  The Bruins were outshot for the game, 36-28.

AJ McCune, Jack Boddecker, and Hayden Hockaday added assist for the Bruins.  Forward Benny Lazzaro lead the physical presence tying for the team lead in hits with five with Savard.  Defenseman Jake Nobel lead the team in blocked shots with two.

Special teams made a massive difference - head Coach Craig Newell's squad was 3 for 4 on the penalty kill, yielding the game winner late, and was 0-for-2 on the power play - failing to register a shot.

Next currently scheduled game is Saturday, September 21st at the Webster Wolves in Rochester, NY.
