AJ McCune scored his 13th and 14th goal on the season and Hayden Hockaday added his team high 23rd to lead the Power City Bruins to a 5-2 victory against the Hamburg Hawks last Sunday at Buffalo State College.

Benny Lazzaro and Aiden Loncar also scored and Carter Winiarski added two assists for the Bruins.  Loncar was also a menace on the forecheck and penalty kill, which went 4-for-5 against the Hawks.  Goaltender RJ Turner earned the victory turning aside 19 of 21 shots.  Defenseman Derrek Wolski lead the Bruins with two blocks.

Special teams did hamper the Power City effort, going 0-for-3 on the Power Play and yielding a short handed goal for the fourth time this season.

The Bruins jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the Lazzaro and Loncar goals before the Hawks pulled within one on their short-handed goal in the dying seconds of the first period.  Hamburg built on that momentum with a very strong second period, outshooting the Bruins 14-4 in the frame.  The Bruins did well to hold on, matching the Hawks goal in the period.

The Bruins are now off for a few weeks, next taking on the Cheektowaga Warriors on Wednesday, December 11th at River works.
