The Bantam Bruins came into the Columbus Day tournament short-handed but shooting it well, and that continued in spades throughout the qualifying round. Power City defeated the Cheektowaga Warriors, New England Knights, and Rochester Aces by a combined score of 24-4!
The hot shooting continued for the top seeded Bruins, eliminating the Warriors in the semi-final at Dwyer Arena by a 7-1 final. However the good feelings came to an end in the final in a rematch with the Knights, falling 2-1 in the championship game.
Every skater for the Bruins registered at least one point in the tournament, including alternate goaltender Cody Schoen skating as a forward during the tournament. The Bruins posted the following point totals for the tournament:

Thursday will be a travel day for the Bruins as they prepare to compete in the New England Shootout in Boston, MA. Games are at 8:10pm on Friday night against the Wild Hockey Club, followed by a double header on Saturday starting at 1:30pm against West Haven AA then the Devils 14U Premier at 8am. All games will be played at the New England Sports Center.
