Cody Schoen turned away the last 27 shots he faced, and both AJ McCune and Carter Winiarski scored and added an assist as the opportunistic Power City Bruins defeated the Cheektowaga Warriors, 3-1 at Hyde Park Ice Pavillion.

Cheektowaga scored on their first shot of the game - a breakaway after an offensive blue line turnover leading to a breakaway.  It was the only sniff the Warriors had as Schoen turned away a few good opportunities to give the Bruins the opportunity to find their legs.

Both McCune and Winiarski found the back of the net with the man advantage - the Bruins were 2 for 2, and killed their only short-handed opportunity.  Hayden Hockaday added the insurance goal for the Bruins.

The Warriors outshot the Bruins for the game, 28-17, and had the Bruins chasing in their own zone for stretches.  Despite not having possession, the Bruins were largely able to keep the Warriors outside the slot.

The Hockaday's led the physical charge again - Brody with five hits and Hayden with four.  Dario Savard also had four hits to go with his team high two blocked shots for a season total of 32.

The Bruins await their semi-final opponent on Sunday morning at Hyde Park Ice Pavillion. Follow the team social media accounts for updates to game times!
